Strong together!

That is the motto of Special Olympics Germany. As the world's largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities, this organization makes a contribution to integrating all people into sports and society. But also for the individual participants, such an event is not just an integration offer, it also strengthens self-confidence, creates recognition and a sense of achievement for the participants!

Sport knows no borders

As part of the Special Olympics, the Special Olympics are organized at state game level in various federal states. This year's Bayern 2022 national games were held in Regensburg from July 19-23. Among all the participants, the climbing team from the South Bavarian Residential and Workshop for the Blind and Visually Impaired (SWW) from Munich also lined up - and that in red SPORTKIND jerseys!

The participants not only looked good in their red SPORTKIND shirts, they also won a number of medals. "All in all, our 9 athletes were able to bring home 12 medals," informed us Marc Eitel from SWW Munich. "Since these were our first games and we weren't able to judge our performance well beforehand, we didn't expect such a great success." We are happy for the outstanding performance of the athletes and are impressed!

More than sports

In addition to the remarkable sporting achievements, we are particularly pleased to hear that the athletes were able to perform as a unified team thanks to our support. This sense of togetherness and the experiences on site contribute a little more to integrating the people affected into our society. "No one can take away their pride and sense of togetherness from this week," said Marc Eitel.
We are proud that through our sponsorship together with the travel agency Viva, the "event has become an unforgettable moment for the athletes" and we wish everyone continued success!
